Description
Statistics for High School Lesson
The vocabulary in statistics is a monster. It is hard to teach and hard to learn.
This lesson is a way to ease the difficulty and increase the success of both you and the students.
Here’s how it works.
- Upload the notes and the Google Form into Google Classroom (or print the notes and use the PowerPoint)
- Start the PowerPoint to organize the day.
- Set students to tasks. They will read the notes and then write definitions, compare and contrast concepts, and take a short CheckForUnderstanding quiz.
- Collaborate, debrief and discuss.
This lesson is designed for High School level statistics, like IB, Cambridge, AP, and the like. It is an introduction to the jargon and terms. Without understanding these words and concepts, the subject is lost to students.
This lesson should take one to two class periods. Included is a PowerPoint, Google Form, a copy of reference notes for students, and a Google drive folder with copies of each of those (for those that prefer to have a Google copy instead of one on your computer).
Please see the video to understand how you can use this in your classroom most easily.
